About Us
Carry-on gear for adventure trips, from a Chinese Canadian who has been traveling solo for more than ten years.
Hi, I'm Kiyen.
I've been traveling on my own for more than ten years, across 25+ countries. Road trips through Canada and the US, mountain towns, long days on the trail, and a lot of last-minute decisions figured out as I went.
Everything I know about packing, I learned the hard way: the overstuffed bag, the checked-bag fees, the strap that gave out halfway up a hill.
Every trip taught me the same lesson. The less you carry, the further you go.
Between two homes
I'm Chinese Canadian, so I've always lived between two places: Canada, where I fell for the mountains, skiing and hiking, and China, where I'm based now and where so much of the world's outdoor gear is made. Wayglen is the bridge between the two. I find the gear here, and I bring it to the people back there who are heading for the trailhead.
